Around the World in 80 Wines #7

Conquistadors, Missionaries, and the Arrival of Wine Grapes in the New World

Join us for part 7 of our 10 part wine seminar series where we uncork the stories behind 80 iconic wines from the world’s most celebrated regions.

Shortly after the discovery of the "New World" Conquistadors and Missionaries rushed to bring wine grapes to this wild and untamed land. The first place grapes were established was in modern day Chile in the 1530's. From this launching point, grapes made their way across the Andes to (modern day) Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, and into the United States. In this session, we'll follow the wine grape's humble beginnings in Chile through to North America and discover the grapes and regions that owe their roots in the Americas to these early pioneers.

Join in anytime! Each seminar stands alone so if you've missed one or more of the series segments, you won't be lost. We'll be offering this series on a rotating basis so you'll be able to catch up on the other stops in the near future.

Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or a curious enthusiast, you'll deepen your knowledge, refine your palate, and gain a deeper appreciation of the artistry in every bottle. Explore the globe, one wine at a time — no passport required.
